Sand Blast and Shape Carve

Granite is a hard stone and requires skill to carve by hand. Modern methods of carving include sandblasting over a rubber stencil. Leaving the letters, numbers and emblems exposed on the stone, the blaster can create virtually any kind of artwork or epitaph. Shape carving uses manual rotary bits to create images with definition and depth.
Laser Etching
Laser engraving on stone can be compared to a sort of "matting" of the material. The laser works directly on the so there is no need for producing a stencil. Unlike sandblasting and shape carving, deep engraving is not possible as the laser beam melts the material, making the result almost invisible. Best results when engraving stone can be achieved by using a deep black stone such as Jet Black.
